Anne was a small girl, light brown hair, nice features a pretty girl with the advantage of a decent upbringing and a nice home. Her father Martin Armistead widowed when Anne was quite young was a schoolteacher. Respectability was the keynote of his life and of Anne’s all of which made it seem hardly within the realm of possibility that he should have trouble with Anne. Still the trouble came to the point where he faced his daughter in the living room and spoke to her in no uncertain term…
