Lum has been trying to devise some scheme to win Evalena back even though invitations have been sent out for her approaching marriage with Frank Foster. Yesterday upon learning of a surprise party to be given in their honour at the home of Dick Huddleston last night Lum talked Abner in to making a fake attempt at kidnapping Evalena thereby affording him an opportunity to rescue her and make himself a hero in her eyes.
