Bart Clayton is in the building business and plans on running Jack Lawrie out of business by making his bids low even if it means he loses money. He plans to undercut every bid Lawrie makes until he has to fold up. Lawrie taught Clayton everything he knows and they used to be friends. Lawrie tells Clayton he didn’t send the men to ruff him up and that he has a good business reputation. He warns Clayton not to push him too far.
