Well Doctor Roller the Pest Controller became so infuriated with his failure to capture the illusive Clyde, that he swore he would not leave the store and library until he had succeeded. So, he set about tearing the store to pieces and maintaining a day and night vigil. He even posted a closed sign on the front door, which made both Lum and Abner realise that they must get rid of Doctor Roller at all costs, or else he would ruin them financially!
