It was 26 years since Martin was a nine-year-old schoolboy with a teacher named Miss Margaret Rice. On his 9th birthday his father had given him a tin whistle, which became an obsession with him as he blew it in defiance. And the whistle was to be the cause of much trouble when first he looses his best friend over it and then when Miss Rice confiscates it from him he begins a rumor, which finally cost her her position as a respected teacher. It is not until now, 26 years later that Martin realises the wickedness of his actions.
