Driving, ceaseless snow made the vast Yukon a blurred mass of whiteness. But even the fury of the storm could not obscure the natural protection of a group of huge rocks which shut out the merciless winds. It was there that two men crouched, guns within easy reach, while they rubbed their hands together for warmth.
