The town of Wells Ville was founded by Zeb Wells an easterner and its citizens were old neighbors and friends of Zeb’s from the east and it was Zeb’s money that had made it possible for them to settle in the new country. Zeb refused to either follow the customs or to be friendly with the people of the west and the other inhabitants of Wells Ville because of their debt to him were forced to obey his wishes.
