David Crowther was released from hospital several weeks ago. He was in dire need of an income and, as a last resort, answered an advertisement in the local newspaper requiring a companion for a very old gentleman, Mr. Lawrence, who was living alone. David becomes obsessed with the old man's "vulture" eye and goes crazy with the idea that he must kill the old man to contain his own sanity!
