It was during the summer of 1871 that two young hunters trapping through a thickly wooded section of Adirondacks they came quite suddenly upon another boy about their same age. That boy was the young Theodore Roosevelt who was out collecting specimens. The two boys on seeing Teddy was quite posh rough him up and it teaches Teddy Roosevelt a lesson, which sets him in good stead for later life.
