“I’m so happy, I’ve got tears of sorrow” those were the words of Charlie George Washington the enigmatic little Malayan cook who was the only happy person at Stilman’s last chance. The only happy person yet in his room he had an ornate silver casket waiting. Now that Charlie is dead you can’t believe that somehow he wasn’t murdered but by whom? Max Stilman, his wife Lucy with the wandering eyes, Jeff Guffrey the salesman who hired George Valentine? Valentine settles on the prime suspect, a cousin of Max Stilman’s who’s hiding from the law until the cousin ends up dead in a real accident on the highway.
