Dan Dailey reprises his 1953 original role from the 20th Century Fox romantic comedy as Eddie Nielson, a disgruntled New York City cab driver. He needs to make a payment for his cab by nightfall, but his first job of the day turns out to be Mary Turner, a distracting young lady, just off the ship from Ireland, who is looking for her husband, James Turner. A year ago, he had visited Ireland, and after a whirlwind romance, they had married before he returned to the United States alone. Will Eddie help her?
