Danny Marsden’s boss was giving him a raise of $25 each month but pointed out to him that although he had the $25 raise his income would go up by only $21 a month as $4 would have to be deducted for income tax. His boss told him this fact before giving him his next assignment on taxation so that Danny would have a personal interest in his work.
