Today's story opens with Doctor Christian and his secretary Judy Price walking through the lobby of a well-known Chicago hotel. They're in Chicago to attend a medical convention which has just finished, but they're ready to head back on the 2:15 train home now. Christian decides to call his old friends Joan and Steve, but when Joan answers, she is anxious to see the Doctor before he returns to River's End.
