The story of the Stuttering Ghost began many years ago on a September afternoon when Holmes and Watson were sitting in their Baker Street lodgings having returned a few hours previously from a much need holiday. As Holmes was checking his post he came across a promising letter simply signed Ferdinand. Later Mrs Frantine arrived and it became apparent that Ferdinand was her little dog. Two weeks ago he had had his collar stolen and she said it had been sent back with a very strange note, which she had in her bag. However when she went to her bag she pulled a gun on Sherlock and demanded the notes from the Ropier case.
