As Kitty stood at the window of her husband's office nineteen floors above the street she could have seen the black edge of cloud on the horizon. But Kitty wasn't looking for a storm, no, for at this moment, she was as happy as she could ever be. Forgotten were the one night stands, the dirty dressing rooms, the cheap hotels and long hours of rehearsal. All that remained of those seven years she spent as an actress with a grace, a poise she learned so well. The way of talking, looking and walking that first attracted Dr. Rim Scaplan. Yes, something good had come out of those bitter years: a home, security, and love. But at this moment, Kitty has no way of knowing that all this, everything she worked for would soon be drifting. Now as the first distant rumble of thunder gusted in through the open window, Kitty's laughter covered up the sound.
