This is more than just the story of a man and the work he did, it is a tribute to the toil, the faith and the unending perseverance of those whose lives are devoted to research - that their fellow men may benefit from their trials and their successes. Such a man was Sir Ronald Ross, Major Ronald Ross of the Indian Medical Service back in the year of 1894 whose discovery proved that malaria was transmitted by mosquitoes and who won a Nobel prize for his work on malaria .
