Section 42B the quarters of the Polaris unit. Inside Cadet Tom Corbett, tall curly haired boy of eighteen is dictating a letter in to the audio writer. Nearby, Cadet Astro the second member of the Polaris Unit listens intently to earphones as a study school whirls in the study machine droning out a lesson in astrogation. And the third member of the Polaris Unit Cadet Roger Manning idly contemplates his collection of pinups. Cadet life is quiet and routine on the space academy campus but then the intercom crackles in to life….
