States Talking, The

States Talking, The

Broadcast: April 20, 1941
Added: Mar 15 2016

This is a broadcast about the American States, about the things that were said of them, and of the things that the States might have said to each other if they heard these words. Written as a blank verse poem, it began a couple of years ago, when people abroad, way off on the other side of the Rhine, began talking about the States. They began saying that the States were cross bred, mixed blooded, and that they would never amount to anything because of their mixed blood. They began saying that it was the pure bred nations of the old world who would do what had to be done, who would arrange things, who would run the world. Listening to talk like that, you get to wondering what the American States would say to each other if they heard these words...
