A Star is Born is a moving Hollywood story of success and heartbreak. Young Ester Blodgett knows that odds are against her becoming a Hollywood star with the thousands of budding actresses out there but one thing she does know is that she must try. At a Hollywood party where she is working as a waitress she defends with great sincerity movie star Norman Maine when his friends criticize his drinking. Norman hears her and is so impressed by her faith and belief in him he helps her become a star by insisting she is cast with him in his next movie. They fall in love and marry. As Vicky Lester, Ester is recognised as a true star but while her success is building Norman Maine’s acting career is in decline but she never loses her faith in him.
