In this Lux Radio Theatre show “A Star is Born” Judy Garland plays the part of a small town girl who rises to screen fame. It is late at night and in the bedroom of a North Dakota farmhouse Esther Bladget is still awake. She lies across the bed sobbing softly in to the pillow hearing again in her mind the words of her aunt telling her that she is not an actress but a North Dakota farm girl and none too beautiful at that and the sooner she stop dreaming about Hollywood the happier she would be.
