Lum’s attempt to lure Cedric and his tent away from the front of the Jot ‘Em Down store with a pinball machine failed when Cedric bought the pinball machine himself. But this mishap was counterbalanced by what Lum and Abner think is good fortune for Squire Skimp informed them that he might be able to secure a friend of his who is a famous building contractor to build the apartments.
