Hostess: Joan Leslie

A baron has arranged a wedding for his daughter to the young count Von Altenburg but they do not know what he looks like. When robbers kill him on the way to his bride the count in his dying breath asks his cavalier friend to haste to the castle with the emerald jewel and to tell her of his fate and love. The cavalier is mistaken for the count and finally leaves the castle hastily saying he has to be at an empty tomb. The next day when news finally reaches the Barron’s castle of the young count’s death the dear old aunts believe that they have seen a spectre bridegroom.
