There's a sign on the wall of some Police precincts which reads 'Once a detective, always a detective.' The men like to think their Sherlock Holmes instinct is less something they've learned, but more something they're born with. But what happens to a retired detective? Does he lose his inquiring nature, his sharp eye for detail, his thirst for solutions?
