Marshal Matt Dillon and Chester are bringing in a prisoner from Abilene across the prairie when they come across a woman burying her husband. They try to persuade her to come back to Dodge as she would have to survive all alone a long way from town. Libby had buried all her children there before her husband and could not bring herself to leave. Chester is really concerned about her.
