With the winter carnival approaching Sylvana Skiing lodge in the Rockie Mountains was a beehive of activity revolving about the handsome ski master, Carl Gordon. Carl was an American but had spent many years in the Bavarian Alps. Following the close of WWII he had returned to America and had served has ski master in resorts on both coasts and in Canada, And now he watches idly as sports lovers swarm through the lobby, laughing happy people from all over the world. Suddenly his glance falls on a middle aged man who doesn't look like a sports enthusiast. It is Dr Prentiss and he has come to see Clarinda Rogers who is injured and is one of the wealthiest women in the world. Dr Prentiss is her fathers oldest friend and he is very suspicious when he learns that Clarinda and Carl are to be married.
