Sheriff Caradac had gone up Mount Laurel and found his man and as he raised his gun to outlaw Rhiannon and told him he’d come to take him in he is shot. Rhiannon takes Caradac to his cave and nurses him back to health. After ten days when Caradac is better they talk and Caradac discovers that Rhiannon had killed the man two years ago for being a thief and instead of standing trial had fled to the mountains. The story is of the friendship that springs up between the two men, the Sheriff and the outlaw who are a lot alike and like each other.
