When Race entered the office of Fred Jeremy at Trans-Olympia Life Plan, he found him with his eyes glued to some charts hanging on the wall, graphs showing statistics representing the national average on deaths due to heart disease. It was a big chart and the fact that it represented one county in the New England district and showed an upswing in deaths over the past year led Jeremy to believe that there was a murder ring operating in that county.
