A couple of hours before they are due to catch a train out of New York heading back west with their Rodeo show Hoppy and California visit one of California’s old girlfriends, Hashknife Lil Carver who now runs a warehouse on the waterfront. While showing Hoppy a sample of a new shipment of pepper they are held up be a skinny little gunman with an English accent.
