The lure of hidden treasure has always had an irresistible and sometimes fatal fascination for mankind. Prospectors died under a burning sun seeking the legendary city of Eldorado. Others have frozen to death, trying to follow the Northern Lights, which they believed were the reflection of vast radium beds in the Arctic. And of course we all think that if only we could discover the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, our troubles would be over. But would they?
