Felicity Hargraves once the liveliest loveliest girl in the county and now she was afraid to go out believing that death was all around her. As the years went by Thomas grew more in love with her but he knew nothing would ever come of that. One day he gets a visit from Mrs Hargraves who was dying and asked Thomas to be a good friend to her as she would now need a friend more than ever. When her mother died Felicity’s uncle was executer of the will and he spent all her inheritance and now planned to sell the house. He turned to Thomas to ask him to tell her that she would have to leave the house but Thomas knew that the house was all she had in the world and that she could not leave the house.
