Scarlet Pimpernel The

Scarlet Pimpernel The

Broadcast: 12th December 1938
Added: Mar 10 2012

The Scarlet Pimpernel is one of the most dashing figures of legend. He was a man of a hundred disguises who lived an almost continual masquerade. He had one great aim in life, to rescue the persecuted in France from the guillotine of the French revolution. In England only the few members of his own band knew that that great fool that overdressed dandy Sir Percy Blakely was the fabulous Pimpernel.

Leslie Howard re-enacts his 1934 film title role.

Producer: Cecil B DeMille
