We could say that Mark Twain was ahead of his time. We could also say that times never change, in so far as certain basics are concerned. Thus, the humorous sermons Mark Twain preached against red tape, bureaucracy, the timidity of public officials, the suspiciousness between countries, are just as timely as ever. For instance, here we are in a giant beer marquee in Berlin, in the 1890. Over near the window are a dozen or so American students.
