Luigi is writing a letter to his Mama in Italy. He's particularly vocal this week, as he's angry at Pasquale, who has done a terrible thing. He has put his daughter Rosa into the same night school which Luigi attends, just so she can be near to him. But it's been affecting his studies from worrying so much! Luigi knows that Pasquale is intent on Rosa and Luigi being married, so this situation is making him very nervous indeed.
