In taking the relics of El Mocano with him on the flight to Cairo Sir Lionel Barton has deliberately upset the plans of Nyland Smith, endangered the lives of Smith, Sean Gevile, Rima Barton and Dr Petrie. The Doctor has met the party on their arrival in Heliopolis near Cairo. On route to the hotel their car hits and apparently kills a beggar. In the following excitement an attempt to steal the suitcase containing the relics is frustrated by Barton. Later Sean Grevile encounters Fa Lo Swee in the crowded lobby of the hotel follows her to the street, hails a cab and follows her car...
