When Steve Mitchell walks in to the commissioner's office he doesn't realise that sometimes the only way to stop a guy cold is to step on the gas. His assignment leads Agent Mitchell to a private sanatorium in Bavaria. Two weeks ago a Czechoslovakian diplomat was arrested in Prague on a charge of treason.he made a quick confession which implicated an American foreign correspondent named Emerson whom he said was a American spy. Emerson got word of the frame up and ducked out fast across the border to Germany. However not long after he was kidnapped in broad daylight by three men. 

That was ten ago and now Emerson may have been discovered in a sanatorium.
