Steve Janis is a pro football player with the nickname “Killer” which he has always hated. He is a giant of a man and his coaches demand that he goes in hard but when he breaks the back of an opponent he decides to quit the game. However his wife Pat and mother-in-law Joy are concerned that he is giving up the money and he realises that she has only ever been interested in the money. When he pushes his wife aside in annoyance she sues him for abuse and he is sentenced to a year in jail. He is released after eight months and now as a matter of pride he intends to kill his wife.
