Sometimes Doctor Finneous Merryweather just sold snake oil the name he gave to his magic elixir which he claimed could cure all evils. He was a blend of doctor, minister, faith healer, charlatan, salesman, comedian and entertainer. He was as welcome as he was frequently unwelcome depending upon how successful he was as a confidence man and unsuccessful as a gambler for the show game or three card monkey was usually part of his stock entry. He was a  colorful, delightful, hard working, lonely , fascinating figure and he called himself the Rainbow Man.
