The building of the first transcontinental railroad was one of the most important steps in the winning of the west. A railroad was a fine importance of the future of the country but powerful forces, cattlemen, stagecoach lines and steamship companies opposed it. Outlaw opposition sprang up and the Lone Ranger was commissioned by the president to lead the fight against the enemies of progress.
