Since her husband died 20 years ago Mrs Jackson has been a crabbed recluse burying herself in the great white columned house set well back into the trees next to Dr Christians office. She is in Dr Christians office and he has been listening to the point of exhaustion so he suddenly decides to tell her the truth about herself. She is shocked when Dr Christian prescribes less of the cup of bitterness and more of the cup of kindness.
