Princess O'Rourke begins in New York City in a tower suite of a fashionable New York Hotel. A royal princess, Maria, is visiting New York with her uncle. Her uncle is trying to find her a suitor  but no one is good enough for her. Then she decides to go for a break on her own under a different name to the Harrison's ranch in California and she falls in love with the handsome pilot Eddie O'Rourke.
