It is nine o’clock in the evening and Bret Hutchins the horse trainer was in the Blue Note Cafe talking to Ethelbert when Casey walks in. Ethelbert tells Casey that he thinks Hutchins is looking for the murderer of Cass Marlin the jockey who got bumped off down in Florida just before he was to ride.
