It was a late and foggy night. Philip Marlowe was on his way to the hills to meet with a man over a mysterious job. The man he meets is called Mr Dellany. He tells Marlowe about Norma, his stunningly beautiful wife and how yesterday she had received a phone call from Madame Janette, and then later walked out of the door, drove off and never returned. The job was to track down Norma and find out what had happened to her. The only lead was the phone call from Madame Janette.
