The Lone Ranger and Tonto reined up on the crest of a hill that overlooked the town of Bender's Gap nestled in the valley. Sheriff Hastings lives there, and he has requested help from the Lone Ranger with a mystery he is unable to solve. As they look down, they see the townsfolk gathered on the street in front of the Sheriff's office. He was in trouble, and the towns people were demanding that he do something about the series of robberies and hold-ups plaguing the town.
