In the days before the world war a wave of moral righteousness was sweeping over America to prohibit the manufacture and sale of hard liqor. As state after state fell in to line and passed the prohibition amendment the struggle became increasingly greater reaching its climax in a certain Midwest state where during a prohibition debate oratory ran high. Later Senator James Brown was accused of offering Senator Archibald Holland a bribe to vote against the bill at the time of the state prohibition fight.
