Dick Tracy has been trying to protect Dryden Small a well-known Egyptologist from dark forces, which seek his death. Small has received strange warnings and several times his life has bee attempted unsuccessfully due to the daring efforts of Dick Tracy. Both Dick and Pat are convinced that Small has been keeping the real reason for his attacks from them. In the last episode we heard how an invisible hand above Smalls bed had written a strange message seemingly.
