The belt is about two feet wide and over one hundred feet long. It moves slowly, and carried on it is a row of 'things'. Well, they start off as single things. Smallish, tubular, plastic things. But all along the slowly moving belt, there stand men and women, and each in turn adds something or does something, waits around four seconds and then a fresh new thing comes by on the belt. They do this every day for eight hours. How do they keep from going mad? Maybe they don't?
