George Valentine meets a boy just out of prison whose wife was killed a week before. Yes, Bernie Evans was struck by an automobile driven by Mr Farrell Paulson. The police told him that Mr Paulson was not to blame and the only reason for the accident was the difficulty Mrs Evans was having with her own navigation. The boy quite understandably refuses to believe such a thing about his wife and socks Valentine on the jaw when he tries to tell him about it. Things are not helped when later George Valentine finds Mr Paulson dead in his office.
