This is the story of Henry and Betty Hough and their determination to get their small town weekly newspaper to press after disaster struck their town. The hurricane of September 15th, 1944 has struck the island Martha's Vineyard, leaving in its wake among other problems, the problem of how to get out the newspaper, The Vineyard Gazette, with no electric power to turn the presses, no telephone service to contact the outside world. It demonstrates their contribution to America's free press.
