Yesterday Pine Ridge received a very great shock it was discovered that the oil well that Lum and Abner and Grandpappy Spears bought in and sold to Squire Skimp wasn’t an oil well after all. The old fellows had drilled in to one of the pipelines of the Southern Pipeline Company, which runs close to Pine Ridge transporting oil from distant oil fields to their refinery.
