John Frame is stabbed to death in front of his friend Mr Tom Archer and Archer himself was wounded by the knife on his handss. Archer recognises the killer of his friend as Bart Hogan the insane son of the Frame's housekeeper who had escaped from an asylum several months earlier. However it couldn't have been Bart as he had been shot in his legs during his escape and was unable to walk. But who else was to benefit from John Frame's death?
